Krispy Kreme launches free donut day for class of 2020. The free "Graduate Dozen" is intended for high school and college seniors.
While many students are frustrated about the cancellation of graduation ceremonies, the doughnut chain offers free donuts for graduating high school and college pupils.
They can avail the free donuts until Tuesday, May 19. They do not have to purchase other goods to get free donuts.
Graduates have to visit a physical store of Krispy Kreme to get their free treats. Krispy Kreme would like to see them dressed in their graduation cap and gown or any piece of clothing that clearly says “Class of 2020.”
Meanwhile, graduates can also show their graduation announcement that displays their name along with a corresponding ID. They can also show their student photo ID that affirms senior status.
“We feel for all of the high school and college seniors. We wish they had that moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma,” said Krispy Kreme’s Chief Marketing Officer Dave Skena in a company statement.
“We can’t replace that … but we thought we could help them safely have a little fun and enjoy a special ‘Graduate Dozen’ on us. Moms, dads, friends and family can buy this ‘Graduate Dozen’ all week long to honor their favorite graduates, but only seniors can get one for free.”
Among the flavors in the Graduate Dozen are Krispy Kreme’s Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles and Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles doughnuts. Graduates can also enjoy some fan favorites that are decorated to celebrate the Class of 2020.
Here is the list from Krispy Kreme:
- Chocolate Iced Kreme Filledis filled with our classic Kreme™, dipped in chocolate icing and decorated with a “2”.
- Strawberry Iced Kreme Filled is filled with our classic Kreme™, dipped in strawberry icing and decorated with a “2”.
- Cake Batter Filled is filled with Cake Batter Kreme™, dipped in yellow icing and decorated with a “2”.
- Yellow Iced Original Glazed is our iconic Original Glazed Doughnut® dipped in yellow icing and decorated with a white icing drizzle.
To avail Krispy Kreme’s Graduate Dozen, graduates must be physically present at the store. The graduation promotion does not apply to online orders.
However, families can still purchase the limited-edition Graduate Dozen online. The goods will be ready for door-side pickup or delivery. Krispy Kreme fans can buy the donuts until May 24.
The Graduation Dozen will be offered at participating shops while supplies last. Krispy Kreme runs 1,400 retail shops in 33 countries.
