Emirates: airline with best inflight entertainment according to passengers

The Dubai-based airline Emirates received the award for Best Entertainment at the 2020 Passenger Choice Awards for the third consecutive year. The awards show was held during the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) EXPO in Los Angeles, California.

Aside from the award, it also garnered a Five-Star Global Airline Official Airline Rating, the highest rating based on verified and certified passenger feedback.

Emirates has long been a leader in the airline industry, being the first to install TV screens in every seat in 1992 and to enable customers to create and sync entertainment playlists on its mobile app in 2018.

The airline is currently focused on providing the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art entertainment and communications systems for passengers, with  its award-winning inflight entertainment system ice, now having more than 4,500 channels of entertainment that includes over 1,000 world movies. Customers across all classes can enjoy these entertainment options for each cabin, with Economy Class, Business Class and First Class, having 13.3 inches, 23 inches, and 32 inches of screens, respectively.

Investments are also being made by the airline in order to provide connectivity and Live TV for its customers. Over 176 Emirates aircraft are equipped with Live TV as well as Wi-Fi connectivity, giving customers in all cabin classes 20MB of free Wi-Fi data or unlimited use of messaging apps for 2 hours.

APEX has partnered with TripIt from Concur, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app, to gather feedback from passengers and come up with the APEX Passenger Choice Awards. From July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, passengers rated over one million flights across almost 600 airlines globally using a five-star scale.

The awards ceremony was hosted by Brian Kelly, CEO and founder of The Points Guy, and was attended by over 5,000 industry professionals, including representatives from more than 125 airlines. Other winners at the event include Qatar Airways for Best Seat Comfort, Best Cabin Service, and Best Food & Beverage, and Delta Airlines for Best Wi-Fi.
